Doulos has existed for 20 years. During that time we have been honored to play our role in the lives of incredible students and staff members as God shapes them into servant leaders who impact their communities.

This month, we start with a grad from the class of 2014, Yeudi Ramirez.

"Hello everyone, I'm Yeudi. Doulos has impacted many aspects of my life and has allowed me to develop very important skills, one of them being leadership. Here in the Dominican Republic, one thing we really lack is strong examples of healthy leadership, which as a student and staff member, I was exposed to daily at Doulos. I learned skills like; focusing on the details, building a strong community, fostering teamwork, being attentive to the needs of the people you lead, and much more!

Those skills turned out to be incredibly useful as I am now shepherding one of our local churches and running, along with my wife, our own business of custom-made wooden art. I am so grateful that, like the scripture says - I am now able to give in grace what I have received by grace.

2022's Highlights

As we step back and look at all that God has done over this past year, our hearts overflow with worship and praise to our loving Father.

We could fill your inbox with highlights, but here are 8 that especially stand out.

Our Incredible Team

At the core of what God is doing at Doulos is our dedicated staff. They pour themselves out day after day to see God’s Kingdom come in the lives of our students and their families.

COVID Restrictions Were Lifted

After almost 2 years of digging deep and trudging through restriction after restriction, we were able to take the masks off, and return to life as normal on campus.

ACSI Accreditation

After a rigorous review process, our ACSI Accreditation was renewed. This accreditation opens numerous doors. It makes it possible for our students to attend college at schools in the DR, US, and Europe. It also makes it possible for us to host and send exchange students and student teachers.

New Students Sponsors

32 new people joined the sponsorship program this past year! As of today we only have 9 students who have NO sponsor at all. Our hope and prayer is to have at least one sponsor for each kid by the end of the year.

Start to the School Year

The school year started with a bang as we could feel the excitement of being back to normal. “It feels like Doulos again!!!”

Multiple Students Placed Their Faith In Jesus

The Holy Spirit continues to draw students into a life-changing relationship with God through Jesus. We saw Him moving in the classroom, during chapels, outdoor ed trips, and one-on-one mentoring time.

Permanent Home for Doulos

Through a series of events that only God could weave together, we were able to sign papers to secure a beautiful piece of land south of town that will become the Forever Home of Doulos

Year-End Giving

We were encouraged and grateful for everyone who included Doulos in their year-end giving. We have a long way to go, but this provided an inspiring start to the first phase of building our home.

God's Spirit to Continue to be Noticeably Present on Campus - Frequently when people come and visit campus their eyes are filled with awe and they say something to the effect of "God is here... God is REALLY here." We didn't do anything to deserve it, but it's true and it's such a rich blessing. We ask God to continue to bless and minister to us through the power of His presence.

God's Direction And Provision As We Build - The blessing of building a permanent home for Doulos will come with an incredible amount of work over the next several years. Please pray for God's wisdom, guidance, provision, protection, and unity as we navigate this demanding season.

Teacher-Student Relationships - That our teachers and staff would have deep connections with their students so that they can point them to Christ and help them navigate the various things this world is throwing at them.

Recruitment and Staffing - As we said above, this is such a foundational part of what God is doing at Doulos. We pray for God's will to be done, and for Him to guide people to start or continue serving at Doulos. If you’d like to pray over each open position, here’s a list.

20th Anniversary Reunion - This will be such a special time. We pray that it will be a powerful blessing to everyone who comes.
