Doulos is Revolutionary!
At Doulos we focus on six codes of character throughout our school year. As we close our time in each character, we celebrate our students by throwing a “party with a purpose.”
Codes of Character
The six codes of character at Doulos are Revolutionary, Servant Leader, Wise, Relational, Courageous, and Perseverant. We strive for our students to obtain these character traits and live by them for the rest of their lives. We EXPECT our teachers to model these codes of character in the classroom and to be a living example to our students of how to live them out. Every six weeks we focus on a new character as our theme. At the end of each theme, WE CELEBRATE! We recognize students from each grade whom teachers believe demonstrated each characteristic, and we throw a party to celebrate as we move into our next character code. For those of you who have never witnessed a Revolution, we wanted to give you a glimpse into the magic.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A PARTY WITH A PURPOSE:
You’d better believe there will be A LOT of laughter…
You can definitely expect some interpretive dancing…
There will be student-led games and some form of teacher harassment…
…and at least ONE character in costume!
Revolution is one of our favorite events at Doulos because we get to celebrate our students for leading by example. We want to remind them that their courageous or perseverant acts do not go unnoticed. Tomorrow we celebrate the close of our focus on the character of Relational and move into Revolutionary. The next six weeks we “Seek first God’s kingdom and are transformed in how we think and act.” We challenge you to discover how the gospel transforms the way you think and act in your own life!
