POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Doulos Finance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and administering the financial records, systems, and processes of Doulos including accounting, bookkeeping, payroll for North American staff, record keeping, banking, insurance, and all related financial and office administration. The Finance Coordinator must also create and present the yearly budget to the ELT for approval. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (Ideal)

  • High-quality communication skills with multiple audiences including teachers, students, families, vendors, and colleagues.

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to juggle competing priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Possess a personal and mature relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Beneficial: Knowing Excel, Basic bookkeeping skills

RESPONSIBILITIES

Mission and Christian Relationship

  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Lord through regular spiritual practices.

  • Uphold the mission and vision of the school of equipping and educating servant leaders through Christian discipleship and expeditionary learning to impact the Dominican Republic.

Professional

  • Arrive on-time for school, all meetings, class, and all responsibilities. 

  • Participates in all meetings on request.

General School Responsibilities

  • Attend assigned supervision duties, engaging in active supervision. 

  • Promptly attend morning “flag time”- engaging students and encouraging student connections. 

  • Be available to substitute when needed.

  • Adhere to school communication norms(email policy) 

Position Specific Responsibilities: Daily

  • Check daily online deposits and enter into Quickbooks

  • Disperse petty cash as needed and reconcile petty cash register

  • Input online and ministry expenses into Quickbooks

  • Place online orders for staff as needed

  • Enter deposit for Banco Popular

  • Respond to emails from staff and donors

Position Specific Responsibilities: Monthly

  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statement, MFI statement

  • Pay credit card monthly balance, pay MFI statement

  • Reconcile and reimburse petty cash

  • Receive, sort, & check in MFI shipment

  • Enter and submit payroll for north American staff

  • Run cafe report for staff payroll

  • Calculate and take sponsorship/cafe check to have deposited


Position Specific Responsibilities: Quarterly

  • Review quickbooks and enter data into school budget report and ministry budget report

  • Receive and review quarterly payroll reports

Position Specific Responsibilities: Semesterly

  • Pay north American staff part of Mapfre insurance

Position Specific Responsibilities: Annually

  • Close out school fiscal year

  • Close out ministry fiscal year

  • Zero out ministry fiscal year by rolling remaining income & expenses into new fiscal year

  • Receive and review annual payroll report

  • Send out staff W2 forms

  • Formulate and send out end of year giving reports to donors
