Doulos Athletics: Purpose & Philosophy

The purpose of Doulos Discovery School’s Athletic & Intramural Programs is to grow students, spiritually, mentally, physically, socially and ethically.

As with all of our school programs and initiatives, our hope is that our young adults – through their involvement in Doulos Discovery School’s Athletic or Intramural Programs – will positively impact the kingdom of God and the Dominican Republic.

We believe that sports are an extension of the classroom and that competition creates opportunities to grow in areas of problem solving, responsibility, teamwork, cooperation and respect. At all levels of play, the purpose of the Athletic & Intramural Programs is to use the gifts that God has given us to bring praise and glory to Him.

Membership on an athletic/extra-curricular team means accepting the responsibility of representing the Gospel and Doulos Discovery School in the most positive manner possible, as well as qualifying academically.
Our PE classes and After School Program will give students the fundamentals they need to begin developing their skills as Elementary aged students. Middle and High School Intramurals give students the opportunity to experience competition as individuals or as a team within Doulos Discovery School, and our Athletic Teams compete outside of Doulos against local and surrounding area schools.
Please refer to the Athletic Handbook for additional information or contact our Athletic Coordinator James Gerety.
